
Pune, Maharashtra – June 2025: The much-anticipated Marathi film ‘Laadki Baihin’, inspired by the popular ‘Laadki Bahin’ government scheme of Maharashtra, had its grand muhurat (inaugural ceremony) in Satara. The ceremonial clap for the first shot was given by none other than Maharashtra’s Minister of Cultural Affairs, Shri Ashish Shelar, marking a significant moment for Marathi cinema and social storytelling.
This upcoming film aims to bring to life the transformative story of one of Maharashtra Government’s most widely discussed and impactful welfare schemes, especially designed for the empowerment of women across the state.
The ‘Laadki Bahin’ scheme, known for providing financial aid and support to millions of women, particularly from economically weaker sections, has had a deep influence on Maharashtra’s female population. The scheme’s resounding success and widespread public interest have inspired filmmakers to translate its impact to the silver screen.
Produced by Sheetal Ganesh Shinde, Babasaheb Patil, and Anil Vanve under the banners of Om Sai Cine Films and Shubham Film Production, the film will be directed by Ganesh Shinde, with screenplay and dialogues penned by Sheetal Shinde herself.
