
Pune: “Temples are not merely places of worship, but centers of social transformation,” stated senior social worker Padma Shri Girish Prabhune.
The monthly meeting of the Hindu Spiritual Service Foundation (HSSF), Maharashtra, was recently held in Pune under the chairmanship of Krishnakumar Goyal, with Padma Shri Girish Prabhune present as the keynote speaker and guide.
Prabhune emphasized that “It is essential to align the pace of Sanatan work with the needs of the times. The confluence of collective effort and spirituality forms the true foundation of social change.” He urged members of the organization to work with unity, devotion, and a spirit of service.
The meeting began with an introductory address by Vice President Sanjay Bhosale, followed by Vice President Radheshyam Agarwal, who provided details of the upcoming Annakoot program. On this occasion, CA Yashasvi Agarwal was felicitated for her professional achievement, and Rajendra Bathiya, the newly elected President of the Pune Merchant Association, was also honored.
During the meeting, Girish Shah donated sarees through Sevabharati for women affected by recent floods. These sarees will soon be distributed in the flood-hit regions by HSSF.
Subsequently, various departmental activity reports for the month were presented. Sonia Shroff shared details of the Kanyavandan (worship of girls) programs held during Navratri at Saraswati Vidyalaya and Any M.S. School. The SPM School program received appreciation from former Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis through a formal letter. The initiative was coordinated by HSSF teacher-trainer Rama Kulkarni.
Departmental progress reports were presented by Rajesh Mehta, Ashok Rukari, Akhil Zhanjale, Vaishali Lawandhe, Atharva Nausarikar, Uday Kulkarni, Vikram Sheth, Nitin Pehalwan, and Jayant Pawar, covering areas such as outreach, temple activities, Warkari groups, youth, IT, finance, and administration.
First-time participants Piyush Waghale (Kishor Martial Arts), Sudhanshu Erande (Social Media), and Prakash Londhe (Sanatan Vidya Foundation – NGO) introduced themselves and shared details of their work.
Joint Secretary Sandeep Sarda introduced the guests and gave insights into upcoming programs to mark the RSS Centenary Year. General Secretary Kishor Yenpure guided participants about the upcoming Paramveer Chakra Awardees Felicitation Program at Fergusson College and delivered the vote of thanks.
The meeting arrangements were managed efficiently by Yogesh Bhosale, while Shailendra Pradhan anchored the proceedings.
