Pune‘Kon Honar Maharashtra Cha Ladka Kirtankar’ is Maharashtra’s first reality television show dedicated entirely to kirtankars—traditional devotional storytellers. Through this innovative and spiritually enriching show, Sony Marathi has created a unique platform for kirtankars to showcase their talent and pay tribute to the age-old art form of kirtan, deeply rooted in Maharashtra’s cultural heritage.

Launched with participation from 108 kirtankars representing all 36 districts of Maharashtra, the show has brought this invaluable cultural tradition proudly into the spotlight. For many performers, getting a chance to perform on television is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity—a dream come true.

Currently, the show is receiving tremendous appreciation and love from viewers across Maharashtra. Audiences, especially those with a passion for devotional content, have shown overwhelming enthusiasm and support, with many being emotionally moved by the heartfelt performances.

Among all regions, Western Maharashtra’s kirtankars are gaining the most attention. The region—particularly districts such as Pune, Satara, Sangli, Kolhapur, Karad, Ichalkaranji, Solapur, Ahilyanagar, and Nashik—has a rich tradition of kirtan and a deep emotional connection to this spiritual storytelling form. Naturally, it is from these districts that a large number of participants have emerged.

Out of the original contestants, 42 kirtankars from Western Maharashtra have already advanced to the next round, impressing both judges and audiences with their performances. Their sincerity, voice, storytelling, and spiritual energy have helped them connect with viewers on a profound level.

The participants are being guided and mentored by legendary figures in the kirtan world — H.B.P. Radhatai Sanap and H.B.P. Jagannath Maharaj Patil — whose presence brings great inspiration and gravitas to the show.

The show is produced under the leadership of Amit Phalke, Senior Vice President of Sony Marathi, along with director-producer Pratik Kolhe and producer Uday Pansare. Their dedication has turned this spiritual show into a high-quality television production that not only entertains but also uplifts the soul.

Thanks to the resounding viewer response, the show continues to grow in popularity. It’s especially heartwarming for audiences to see kirtan, traditionally performed in temples or village squares, now being celebrated in living rooms through modern media.

As the competition progresses, fans eagerly anticipate what new topics and messages these talented kirtankars will deliver in their upcoming performances. From moral tales and life reflections to stories of saints and devotion, the content promises to be meaningful and inspiring.

So don’t miss this divine journey—‘Kon Honar Maharashtra Cha Ladka Kirtankar’ airs Monday to Saturday at 6 PM, a perfect time to immerse yourself in spirituality and culture during the twilight hour, only on Sony Marathi.
