This important event marks a fresh chapter for one of Warje’s most prominent housing societies, as a new panel of members takes charge with a strong focus on development, safety, and community harmony.

Resounding Victory for One Panel; Five Key Members Elected

The election, conducted for a total of nine committee positions, saw overwhelming support for one panel. The five key members elected with majority votes include:

• Lahu Vasant Dhumal as President
• Tapkir Sahebrao Genbhao as Secretary
• Gajalkar Ravindra Dinanath as Treasurer
• Bagade Sambhaji Digambar and
• Gadade Vijay Bajrang

Together, they have pledged to lead the society with a renewed commitment to infrastructure improvements, enhanced security measures, and a peaceful, inclusive community environment.

A Legacy of Leadership and Progress

The Runwal Meadows Federation was established in 2009, with unopposed elections last held in 2016. Since then, Lahu Vasant Dhumal has held the president’s post and is now reinstated by the members’ mandate. Under his previous leadership, the society witnessed multiple developments — including the construction of a Ganpati temple and substantial infrastructure upgrades like road paving with asphalt and concrete, made possible with the support of local MLAs, MPs, and corporators.

An open gym was introduced for the benefit of residents’ health, while MNGL gas pipeline installation and enhancement of the main water line resolved critical resource issues. The clubhouse, previously in a dilapidated state, was also fully renovated and reopened for member use.

Challenges That Called for a Fresh Start

Despite the successful initiatives, the absence of a fully functional committee in recent years led to operational setbacks. Key decisions remained pending, causing delays and disturbances within the society. Issues like watchmen shortages, non-functional CCTV wiring, lack of parking stickers, incomplete sanitation facilities, and delayed maintenance fee collections created a sense of unrest among residents — especially affecting senior citizens and families.

With multiple administrative codes (due to COVID-19 and elections) delaying the formation of a new committee, tensions had escalated. However, with the Federation finally organizing a proper electoral process, this vacuum has now been addressed.

Vision for a Safer, Healthier, and Unified Society

In their press briefing, the new committee laid out a clear roadmap for development. Top priorities include:

• Deploying more security personnel
• Installing advanced CCTV cameras in public areas
• Repairing and enhancing society lighting to make the premises safer
• Upgrading the open gym with modern facilities
• Constructing separate toilets for watchmen and visitors
• Revamping children’s play area, adding new play equipment, and planting more trees in the garden
• Repairing the boundary fence and introducing a security alarm system in all buildings

These efforts aim to transform Runwal Meadows into a secure, beautiful, and well-connected community.
