MIT-ADTU Alumna Tushara Thummalapalli Commissioned as Pilot in the Indian Navy

Pune, June 2025:
In a remarkable achievement that has brought immense pride to her alma mater and inspiration to aspiring engineers and young women across the country, Tushara Thummalapalli, a 2024 graduate from the Department of Mechanical Engineering at MIT Art, Design and Technology University (MIT-ADTU), has been commissioned as a pilot in the Indian Navy.

At just 23 years of age, Tushara has joined the elite league of Indian naval aviators, marking a historic milestone — not only for herself, but for the entire MIT-ADTU community that continues to nurture socially responsible, nationally dedicated professionals.


A Symbol of Determination and Excellence

Tushara’s journey is a shining example of discipline, focus, and determination. Throughout her academic tenure at MIT-ADTU, she excelled not only in academics but also emerged as a proactive participant in technical forums, research initiatives, and leadership roles within the Department of Mechanical Engineering.
