
Pune, — June 11, 2025: The alumni of the 1998–1999 batch of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan School, Bopodi, came together for a heartwarming and nostalgic reunion on Wednesday, June 11, 2025. Held on the school premises, the gathering was filled with laughter, emotion, and cherished memories, as former students reunited with old classmates and teachers after an incredible 26 years.
The program began with a welcome address, setting the tone for an evening that would take everyone back to their school days. Former students shared their school-time experiences, journey through life, and the achievements they’ve garnered over the years. Emotions ran high as many expressed how deeply their school shaped their values and aspirations.
The atmosphere turned emotional when teachers were honored with heartfelt tributes. Tears of joy were seen in many eyes as gratitude and respect flowed freely.

The highlight of the event was the felicitation of teachers who played a pivotal role in the students’ lives. Among those honored were respected educators such as Mr. Kamalakar Patil, Mrs. Ranjana Tankasale, Mr. Valmik Hajare, Mr. Sitaram Wagh, Mr. Devdas Sarode, Mr. Jayram Pardhi, Mr. Gite, and Mrs. Karne.
Each of them was presented with a token of appreciation, and many alumni shared personal stories of how these teachers left a lasting impact on their lives. The emotional connection between teacher and student was clearly visible, making it a moment to remember.
Adding further significance to the event was the presence of Mr. Somnath Bankar, an alumnus who once served as a school assistant (peon) and is now the Commissioner of the Anti-Encroachment Department, Pune Municipal Corporation. His journey from humble beginnings to a top civic post left everyone inspired.
Also in attendance was Mr. Jeevan Kamble, the acting principal, who praised the efforts of the organizing alumni and congratulated everyone on their professional and personal accomplishments.
The teachers, in turn, took the opportunity to share words of wisdom and guidance with their former students. They encouraged everyone to continue striving for excellence in their respective fields and reminded them to give back to society with the same spirit of learning and humility that marked their school days.
Their blessings added a deeply personal touch to the occasion, reinforcing the values of respect, gratitude, and lifelong learning.
A photo exhibition showcasing old class photos and school memories was a major attraction, drawing laughter and emotional reactions alike. Cultural performances, informal games, and short speeches filled the hall with energy and entertainment.
The event concluded with light refreshments, where everyone mingled freely, catching up on the years gone by and reminiscing about classroom pranks, exam stress, annual days, and friendships that stood the test of time.
The entire event was beautifully organized by the alumni of the 1998–99 batch, who extended sincere thanks to all attendees, teachers, and the school administration for their support. As the evening drew to a close, there was a unanimous promise to meet again, and not wait another 26 years to do so.
