Pune, May 22, 2025: The much-anticipated Marathi film ‘Ashtapadi’ is all set for a statewide theatrical release on May 30 across Maharashtra. Backed by an emotional narrative, musical richness, and a heartfelt social message, this family-oriented drama has already generated significant buzz across social media platforms. With its teaser, trailer, and soulful music striking a chord with audiences, ‘Ashtapadi’ is poised to offer a cinematic experience that goes beyond the conventional definition of love.
‘Ashtapadi’ aims to portray unseen layers of love and human connection, venturing into a space that surpasses the stereotypical romantic equations often seen on screen. At its core, the film explores how love is not merely an emotion between two individuals but an expansive universe of commitment, compassion, and soulful connection.

Director Utkarsh Jain, who has also produced the film along with Mahendra Patil under the banners of Mahashree Production and Yuvraj Cine Creations, says:
“Ashtapadi is a story rooted in the reality of modern relationships and showcases the emotional depth that love carries in today’s society. This film is not just for the youth but for every generation.”
Boasting a talented ensemble cast, ‘Ashtapadi’ stars Santosh Juvekar, Mayuri Kapadne, Abhinav Patekar, Milind Phatak, Mona Kamat, Swapnil Rajshekhar, Madhav Abhyankar, Vinita Kale, Chanda Sarsekar, Kalpana Rane, Vishal Arjun, and more. Each character has been carefully cast to reflect real-life personas, making the story relatable and emotionally gripping.
The film’s screenplay, dialogues, and story have been beautifully crafted by creative director Mahendra Patil, blending dramatic moments with emotional realism. It is this thoughtful writing and layered character arcs that make ‘Ashtapadi’ stand out as more than just a love story—it becomes a mirror to contemporary society.
Music plays a pivotal role in ‘Ashtapadi’, and the film is enriched by the meaningful lyrics of Ganesh Cheulkar and Prashant Jamdar, set to melody by composer Milind More. Known for his ability to create emotionally resonant tunes, More has also composed the background score, elevating the film’s emotive storytelling to another level.
The title itself, ‘Ashtapadi’, traditionally refers to a set of eight verses often used in classical Indian devotional music, which hints at the film’s deeply spiritual and emotional undertone.
From cinematography by Dhanraj Wagh to art direction by Nilesh Rasal, every frame of ‘Ashtapadi’ has been crafted with an artistic eye. The costumes, designed by Anjali Khobrekar and Swapna Raut, along with makeup by Atul Shidhaye, contribute to the authentic and aesthetically rich feel of the film.
Digvijay Joshi’s choreography brings a graceful rhythm to the storytelling, while Ajay Khade serves as the executive producer, ensuring a seamless execution of the director’s vision. Rahul Patil and Nandu Acharekar have played key roles as associate directors.
While ‘Ashtapadi’ promises to entertain, it also carries a deeper social relevance, addressing changing dynamics in family and relationships. Director Utkarsh Jain mentions that the film holds a mirror to today’s emotional complexities and societal challenges:
“We’ve tried to bring the struggles and realities of everyday relationships onto the screen in a way that’s genuine and thought-provoking.”
In a noble gesture, Jain has also announced that a portion of the film’s earnings will be donated to the National Defence Fund, further cementing the film’s commitment to social good.
With its compelling mix of emotion, drama, music, and a socially relevant message, ‘Ashtapadi’ is positioned as a complete cinematic package. Audiences of all ages—whether young romantics or traditional families—will find themselves immersed in its heartfelt storytelling and melodic appeal.
The film’s emphasis on real relationships and emotional authenticity is expected to strike a strong chord with viewers, making ‘Ashtapadi’ one of the most anticipated Marathi films of the season.
