‘Amrit Dnyankumbh 2025’ National Tax Conference to be Held in Pune on May 3–4

Union Minister Murlidhar Mohol to inaugurate; Top tax experts to lead sessions on AI, GST, Direct Tax Code and more

PUNE: The Maharashtra Tax Practitioners’ Association (MTPA) is set to host a prestigious two-day National Tax Conference titled ‘Amrit Dnyankumbh 2025’ on May 3 and 4, aiming to bring together India’s leading tax professionals, experts, and policymakers. The event will take place at Sahakar Bhavan, Cosmos Tower, Ganeshkhind Road, Pune.

With the theme ‘Tax Professionals: Pillars of a $5 Trillion Economy & Beyond’, the conference will focus on empowering tax practitioners in India’s rapidly evolving financial and digital landscape. Organized in collaboration with the All India Federation of Tax Practitioners (AIFTP), GST Practitioners’ Association of Maharashtra, and the North Maharashtra Tax Practitioners Association (NMTPA), the event marks a significant knowledge-sharing milestone in the country’s tax domain.

Union Minister Murlidhar Mohol to Inaugurate

The inaugural ceremony will be held on Saturday, May 3 at 9:45 a.m., with Union Minister of State for Cooperation and Civil Aviation Murlidhar Mohol presiding as chief guest.
The announcement was made at a press conference by Adv. Narendra Sonawane, Chairman of the National Tax Conference, alongside MTPA President Adv. Prasad Deshpande, Vice Chairman CMA Shripad Bedarkar, and MTPA Vice President Adv. Anurudra Chavan.

Prominent dignitaries such as AIFTP National President Adv. Sameer Jani, former ICAI President CMA B. M. Sharma, and renowned tax professionals Adv. Nikita Badheka, Adv. Deepak Godse, Adv. Vinayak Patkar, Adv. Narayan Jain, CA S. Venkataramani, and Adv. Santosh Gupta will grace the event.

Technical Sessions to Cover Burning Tax Topics

The two-day event will include in-depth technical sessions that reflect current industry challenges. On Day 1, experts CA Asit Shah and Adv. Deepak Bapat will discuss “Challenges in Input Tax Credit, Fake Invoices, and Related Rules.” This will be followed by a key session on the Direct Tax Code led by Dr. Girish Ahuja and Adv. Narayan Jain.

One of the highlights of Day 1 will be a specially curated segment titled “GST Ki Sansad”, chaired by Adv. Vidhyadhar Apte and Adv. Govind Patwardhan, designed as a participative debate session on GST reforms.

Spotlight on AI, Direct–Indirect Tax Link & Cooperative Sector

Day 2 will take a forward-looking approach. Experts like Adv. Makarand Aadkar, CA Suhas Bora, CA Ishan Patkar, and CA Yogesh Ingle will explore the Indian Justice Code and the growing interrelation between Direct and Indirect Taxes.

Another key attraction will be the session on “Artificial Intelligence and the Future of Tax Consultants,” led by Adv. Manohar Samal and CA Chandrashekhar Chitale. This topic is expected to draw immense interest, especially with AI revolutionizing tax practice and compliance models globally.

Additionally, the session “Cooperative Sector and the $5 Trillion Economy” will be conducted by CA Yogesh Kasar and CA Milind Kale, underscoring the role of cooperatives in India’s economic growth journey.

Engaging Activities: “Kaun Banega Taxpati” & “Tax OPD”

In a refreshing twist to the traditional format, the event will also host an interactive quiz-style program titled “Kaun Banega Taxpati,” featuring tax wizards like CA Rajesh Mehta, CA Mitish Modi, CMA Prakash Rijwani, CA Janak Waghani, and others. The session aims to blend fun with learning, testing participants’ practical and theoretical tax knowledge.

Moreover, for the first time ever, a “Tax OPD” will be set up to provide free expert guidance to attendees on complex issues related to Income Tax, GST, RERA, LBT, RTI, and Cyber Law. Eminent specialists like Anil Wakharia (LBT), Adv. Kishor Lulla (RTI), CA Parikshit Aurangabadkar (Income Tax), Dr. Sapna Dev (Cyber Law), Adv. Milind Bhonde (GST), and Adv. Sanket Bora (RERA) will offer their insights during this unique service segment.

MTPA’s 45th Foundation Day to Be Celebrated

The conference also coincides with the 45th Foundation Day of the MTPA. The organization will take this opportunity to honor senior tax professionals who have made noteworthy contributions to the field of taxation.

Speaking about the conference, MTPA President Adv. Prasad Deshpande stated:
