
Pune: Taking a significant leap in the direction of artificial intelligence (AI) research and education, The DataTech Labs has inaugurated its state-of-the-art AI Research & Innovation Lab in Pune. The event was graced by Maharashtra’s Higher and Technical Education Minister Chandrakant Patil, who officially opened the lab in a ceremony attended by several prominent academic leaders.
The inauguration was marked by the presence of Dr. Parag Kalkar, Pro-Vice Chancellor of Savitribai Phule Pune University, and Dr. Sayali Gankar, Vice Chancellor of Dr. D.Y. Patil University, Ambi. The AI Lab aims to become a dynamic platform for students, researchers, academic institutions, and government bodies to collaborate on innovation, skill development, policy design, and practical AI implementation.

Speaking at the event, Minister Chandrakant Patil stated,
“This lab is not merely a facility; it is a movement toward building a skilled, tech-savvy future for India. The culture of innovation, consistent growth, and result-oriented projects being fostered here is commendable.”

Dr. Parag Kalkar emphasized the importance of industry-oriented learning for today’s students.
“Students must be aware of real-world technology and industrial challenges. This lab will act as a bridge between academia and industry, opening up new career opportunities,” he said.
Echoing this sentiment, Dr. Sayali Gankar highlighted the lab’s potential impact on the national economy.
“Initiatives like these can turn India into a knowledge-based economy. The team at DataTech Labs has truly made a meaningful contribution with their vision and determination,” she noted.
Vineet Andre, CFO of The DataTech Labs, described the lab as a long-term investment in intellectual capital.
