Grand Finale of Pune Idol 2025 to Take Place This Saturday at Balgandharva Rangmandir

‘Voice of Choice’ Awards to Honour Artists from Various Fields

Pune, May 24, 2025 — The grand finale of the prestigious Pune Idol competition, organized by Someshwar Foundation, will take place this Saturday, May 24, at Balgandharva Rangmandir, Pune. The event, now in its 23rd edition, was originally conceptualized by the late MLA Vinayak Nimhan, a known patron of the performing arts and a strong supporter of aspiring vocal talents.

Over the years, Pune Idol has grown to become one of the city’s most prominent platforms for budding singers. This year, the competition saw participation from more than 700 contestants across four different categories, attracting incredible talent from across the region.


Finale to Begin with Grand Inauguration Ceremony

The grand finale will be inaugurated at 10 AM with a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony by Maharashtra’s Agriculture Minister Manikrao Kokate, setting the tone for an exciting day of performances.

The prize distribution ceremony is scheduled for 3 PM and will be graced by Union Minister of State for Cooperation and Civil Aviation Murlidhar Mohol, Maharashtra’s Higher and Technical Education Minister Chandrakant Patil, and BJP Pune City President Dhiraj Ghate.


A Platform of Recognition for More Than Just Talent

One of the highlights of Pune Idol is its commitment to acknowledging not only singing talent but also individuals who have contributed significantly to the world of music and culture. Every year, the ‘Voice of Choice’ Awards are presented to such personalities.

This year, the awardees include Dr. Vinay Thorat, Shivani Pandhare, Nilesh Nikam, and Adv. Sheetal Kulkarni. These individuals will be honoured at 2 PM during the event by distinguished guests for their contributions to music and society.


Star-Studded Jury and Special Performances

The finalists of Pune Idol will perform live in front of an esteemed panel of judges, including veteran singers Rajesh Datar, Jitendra Bhuruk, and Manjushree Oak. These respected names in the Marathi music industry are known for their discerning ears and dedication to nurturing talent.

Adding a musical delight to the day, judge Jitendra Bhuruk will present a special musical segment titled ‘Geeton Ka Safar’, which will feature timeless Bollywood classics, offering attendees a nostalgic journey through the golden era of Indian music.

The preliminary and semi-final rounds of the competition were held at Pt. Bhimsen Joshi Auditorium in Aundh, attracting a large crowd and enthusiastic response. Now, as the competition heads into its final and most anticipated round at Balgandharva Rangmandir, excitement among music lovers in Pune is at its peak.
