Girls Outshine Boys in Pimpri-Chinchwad SSC Exam 2025; City Records Impressive 97.97% Result

pune May 13 The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) announced the SSC (Class 10) exam results for March 2025 on Tuesday, May 13. The results, declared online at 1 PM, brought a wave of celebration across Pimpri-Chinchwad as the city recorded an outstanding overall pass percentage of 97.97%. Notably, girls outperformed boys, both in numbers and percentage.


Girls Continue to Lead with Higher Pass Percentage

In a trend consistent with recent years, girls in Pimpri-Chinchwad outshone boys in the SSC results. While 98.43% of girls cleared the exam, 97.55% of boys passed. Education experts and school principals across the city have lauded the dedication and discipline of female students, attributing the success to consistent effort and strong parental support.


Over 19,000 Students Appeared; 123 Schools Record 100% Results

This year, a total of 19,917 students from 213 schools across Pimpri-Chinchwad registered for the Class 10 board examination. Out of these, 19,868 students appeared for the exam—comprising 10,296 boys and 9,672 girls. Of these, 19,466 students passed, which includes 10,044 boys and 9,422 girls.

Out of the 213 schools in the city, 123 schools secured a 100% pass result, showcasing a strong educational performance across the region.


Distinction for Over 8,000 Students

Among the students who passed, a significant number—8,383 students—secured Distinction, highlighting the academic excellence of the city’s SSC batch of 2025. Further analysis of the results shows:

  • First Class: 6,685 students
  • Second Class: 3,587 students
  • Pass Class: 810 students

These figures reflect not just a high pass rate, but also an admirable level of academic achievement.


402 Students Did Not Clear the Exam

While the overall performance remains impressive, 402 students across the city were unable to clear the examination this year. Educational authorities have emphasized the need for enhanced remedial support, focused guidance, and mentoring to help these students in their future attempts.


Celebrations and Reactions Across the City

As soon as the results went live online at 1 PM, social media platforms and school WhatsApp groups were flooded with congratulatory messages. Many students and parents shared their joy online, expressing pride and relief.

“I was nervous the whole morning, but when I saw my marks, I couldn’t stop smiling,” said Sneha Jadhav, a student from Nigdi who scored 91% with distinction. “I thank my teachers and parents for their constant support.”

Parents, especially, were seen distributing sweets outside schools and tuition centers as the students checked their results.


Education Department Lauds Performance, Encourages Improvement

City education officials have appreciated the efforts of teachers, schools, and students in achieving a high overall pass percentage. Speaking about the results, a Pimpri-Chinchwad education officer said, “The consistent improvement in results every year is a reflection of the hard work put in by our teaching community and students. However, we also aim to bring down the number of unsuccessful students through counseling and academic support.”


Looking Ahead: Focus on Skill Development and Career Guidance

With the SSC results now out, schools and parents are now turning their attention to the next academic step — junior college admissions and career guidance. Experts suggest that this is a crucial phase for students to make informed decisions based on their strengths and interests.

Career counselors across the city are now preparing to hold orientation sessions to help students explore streams like Science, Commerce, Arts, as well as vocational training programs.
